The Silencing of Gaza: How Media and Politics Shape Narratives of War. In recent months,…
Action without vision is only passing time.
Vision without action is merely day dreaming.
But vision with action can change the world.
( Nelson Mandela )
Surrender to what is.
Let go of what was.
Have faith in what will be.
( Sonia Ricotti )
The best kind of people are the ones that come into your life and make you see the sun where you once saw clouds.
The people that believe in you so much, you start to believe in you too.
The people that love you.
The once in a lifetime kind of people.
That we have the vote means nothing.
That we use it in the right way means everything.
Our political work has only begun when we have the ballot.
And that work should be carried out exactly as our college work is, as any good work which we undertake is.
It must be thoughtful, idealistic, clean, effective.
( Lou Henry Hoover, April 10, 1920 )
Let no man pull you low enough to hate him.
( Martin Luther King, Jr. )
The Main Cause Of Suffering In The World.
Our so-called leaders in the world, and the people with power and authority in the world, who cling obstinately to lives of wealth, comfort and pleasure, excitement and self-indulgence, with their fat-cat salaries and obscene bonuses, their morality and decency eroded away, are ignorant of the fact that their greed and selfishness is the main cause of all human misery and suffering in the world today.
We are all damaged in our own way.
Nobody’s perfect.
I think we are all somewhat screwy, every single one of us.
( Johnny Depp )
If you think the economy is more important than the environment.
Try holding your breath while counting your money.
( Guy McPherson )
Not all scars show.
Not all wounds heal.
Not all illness can be seen.
Not all pain is obvious.
Remember this before passing judgement on another.
Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal.
( Martin Luther King Jr. )
Few delights can equal the presence of one whom we trust utterly.
( George MacDonald )
We Need A Higher Quality Of Politician.
Hospital bosses give themselves six-figure salaries and patients suffer.
Fire service chiefs, royal mail managers, university chiefs, local councillors, are all cutting services while trousering huge wages and bonuses.
They can all smell the swill in the trough.
It stinks.
Decency no longer exists.
We desperately need MPs who will stand up and confront financial greed.
We need a higher quality of politician, men and women who have been in the real world and earned a living.
The current crop are a second-rate, selfish, greedy rabble.
Governments don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking.
That is against their interests.
They want obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork.
And just dumb enough to passively accept it.
( George Carlin )
I see a time of seven generations when all the colours of mankind will gather under the sacred tree of life and the whole earth will become one circle again.
( Crazy Horse )
In our so-called free country we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness.
Many people face a choice this winter between heating and eating.
These are the ordinary people of this country who this Prime Minister will never meet and whose lives he’ll never understand.
( Ed Miliband, 23.10.2013 )
A lie doesn’t become truth.
Wrong doesn’t become right.
Evil doesn’t become good.
Just because it’s accepted by the majority, or because it might have been enacted into law.
I do not believe in the general promiscuous toting of guns.
I think it should be sharply restricted and only under licenses.
( Karl Frederick, 1934 )
They Live In A Little World Of Their Own.
Do not look for any help or hope from the Tories.
All that they offer is a change of faces without any alteration of policy.
They are merely a greedy, selfish machine for getting cabinet posts for their mates and sons of the rich.
The Tory strategy is always the same: make working class people pay for the cushy life of the better off.
The Tories have no idea about life in the real world.
They live in a little world of their own.
The rich boy’s instincts are to serve the few, not the many.
They will promise whatever they think it takes to get elected.
Can a people tax themselves into prosperity?
Can a man stand in a bucket and lift himself up by the handle?
( Winston Churchill )
People should not be afraid of their governments.
Governments should be afraid of their people.
What if we choose to eradicate ourselves from this Earth, by whatever means?
The Earth goes nowhere.
And in time, it will regenerate, and all the lakes will be pristine.
The rivers, the waters, the mountains, everything will be green again.
It will be peaceful.
There may not be people, but the Earth will regenerate.
And you know why?
Because the Earth has all the time in the world and we don’t.

We Pay Public Servants To Look After Us.
I abhor inconsiderate, smug, self-satisfied bastards who assume that they can treat the poor, the fearful and the uncertain with disdain.
The average public servant needs to be reminded that the nervous citizen asking for his help is paying his inflated wages.
We pay public servants to look after us, to protect us and to make our lives more comfortable.
Most of them have forgotten what the phrase “public servant” really means.
Clement Atlee.
Rebuilt Britain after World War Two.
Created the National Health Service.
Achieved full employment.
Built one million new homes.
Employed 25,000 new teachers.
Ended the exploitation of workers in many industries through fair-wage and employment-conditions legislation.
Introduced child benefit, invalidity benefit, and social security.
Introduced sickness pay, and maternity pay.
When you hear ‘freedom’ or ‘democracy’, beware.
In a truly free nation, no one should have to tell you that you are free.
Our ancestors have gifted us with language.
Use this today to enlighten and inspire, not belittle or denigrate.

Everyone Claims To Be Innocent.
We live in a world where dishonesty is rewarded, where power is taken by the vicious and the brutal and where the incompetent and uncaring prosper.
We are ruled by pompous people who cloak ambition and greed in stolen power and glory but accept no responsibility for justice.
No one cares any more about what is right.
No one cares about the poor, the meek, the gentle and the kind.
No one cares about the innocent.
We applaud and reward the fat businessmen who cheat the world’s poor.
We have dirtied our land and polluted our air and our water..
We live in a filth of our own making.
A filth that contaminates our very lives.
And yet everyone claims to be innocent in all the corruption, the misery, the viciousness, the cruelty and the horrors of our world.
The planet does not need more successful people.
The planet needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds.
( Dalai Lama )
Don’t try and pretend to be normal.
It gets boring.
Just be yourself.
If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.

The war on drugs brought in more drugs and the war on terror created more terrorists.
Perhaps next year we can have a war on money and jobs and see where it goes.
For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.
( Nelson Mandela )
You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you.
What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.

In The Pockets Of The Rich.
Tories are nestled in the back pockets of the rich.
The Tories cash flow is dependent on keeping the mega-rich bankers happy.
These people don’t give something for nothing.
They will expect, and demand, plenty of favours in return.
Compassion brings us to a stop, and for a moment we rise above ourselves.
( Mason Cooley )
Do something wonderful.
People may imitate it.

A flower does not think about competing with the flower next to it.
It just blooms.
It’s easy to fool the eye but it’s hard to fool the heart.

My heart breaks, and my soul weeps, when witnessing cruelty to any living being.

What Did You Get For Christmas 2009?
David Cameron was given silver goblets, a £3,500 hamper and £90,000 towards his May 2010 election campaign, from his rich buddy, Lord Harris of Peckham.
It goes to prove the old adage that money flows to money.
I wonder what ‘favours’ Lord Harris has been promised?
We can change the world and make it a better place.
It is in your hands to make a difference.
( Nelson Mandela )
Let me just be candid.
My party is full of racists.
And the real reason a considerable portion of my party wants President Obama out of the White House has nothing to do with the content of his character, nothing to do with his competence as Commander in Chief and President, and everything to do with the colour of his skin.
And that’s despicable.
( Col. Lawrence Wilkerson )
We live in a culture where people are more offended by ‘swear’ words and middle fingers than they are by famine, warfare and the destruction of our environment.
My definition of stupid is wasting your opportunity to be yourself.
Because I think everybody has a uniqueness and everybody’s good at something.
( Pink )
Mingle often with good people to keep your soul nourished.

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant.
We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift.

£5million Of Inheritance Tax Was Avoided In The House Lady Thatcher Lived In.
So the late Lady Thatcher, always ready to cloak herself in the red, white and blue of the Union Flag, lived for 20 years in a £12.5million London home which was owned by an offshore trust.
The possible use of a Caribbean tax haven and trust means that if the former Conservative Prime Minister had an interest in this firm, about £5million of inheritance tax was avoided on the Belgravia property – money which could have funded the police, armed forces and all the other bits of Britain she professed to champion.
While her much less successful successor David Cameron is proud to call himself a “Child of Thatcher” and the Tory Party builds a cult around her, questions need to be answered.
Whoever ultimately owned that house appears to have dodged taxes that other families, including middle and quite high earners, all must pay.
Lady Thatcher’s patriotism appears to have come at a price.
